Situation · Ask

The challenge

California’s Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications brought communities and public partners together through a series of 10 workshops across the state. Each event needed to support its own participants and conversations while still feeling connected to one larger initiative.

What The Ask uncovered

Create more than a visual theme for a single event. The work needed to give the full workshop series a clear identity, make information easier to navigate, and hold together programs, schedules, presentations, signage, and digital materials across changing locations and contributors.

Decision

The creative decision

Treat the identity as connective tissue. A shared logo and graphic language could give every workshop a recognizable center while leaving enough flexibility for local content, speakers, and partners.

What we made

Witzke developed the event identity and a coordinated system of templates for programs, schedules, presentations, signage, and digital communications. Amber led design and creative direction in collaboration with Sage Strategies and Jason Malmberg, creating a practical visual framework that partners, presenters, and event teams could use consistently across all 10 workshops.

Value · Review

The result

The series gained one recognizable visual framework across 10 statewide workshops. Participants and partners could encounter the same information hierarchy and visual cues from one location and format to the next, giving the initiative greater clarity and continuity.

Lasting value

The result was a reusable communication system rather than a collection of one-off event graphics: a common structure that could support multiple teams, formats, and workshop environments while keeping the purpose of the initiative visible.
